Daniel Galmiche is a French chef and food writer, currently heading up the kitchen at 190 Queen’s Gate restaurant in London. He’s the author of two successful cookbooks.

We were thrilled when French chef and food writer Daniel Galmiche came to us for a personalised knife. His brief was a knife celebrating his beloved France and the French influence in his cooking. Currently heading up the kitchen at 190 Queen’s Gate restaurant, Daniel was drawn to our Brawny Chef and Classic Ultra knives. We took these as our starting point, developing something custom-made that matched his specifications perfectly.

For the handle, we incorporated the red, white and blue of the French Tricolour as a liner between the tang and the gorgeous leadwood handle.

As a final flourish, Daniel sketched a French cockerel, which we engraved on the blade of the knife with his initials.
