When we collaborated with chef, restaurateur and author Neil Rankin, we challenged him to select the perfect set of knives for his speciality – cooking meat with fire. This is the result.
First Neil chose blades that would cover all the bases in his kitchen. His set includes the Big Butcher, our take on the traditional English butcher’s knife, the Useful Boner, a long and slender, strong-yet-flexible boning knife that lets you get close to the bone, and our Chicken Knife, specially created to tackle every part of chicken preparation from separating breasts, drumsticks and thighs, and butterflying, to carving and picking out the delicious chicken oysters. And of course, it wouldn’t be complete without our Barbecue Cleaver, a compact, dexterous cleaver that combines power (when used with the hammer grip) with delicacy (when held in a pincher grip).
Then we worked with Neil to create handles that would prevent slipping – a common problem in butchery and barbecue. Our solution are these ergonomically designed limited edition Richlite handles with grooves for extra grip.
This set is a must for grill lovers and pit-masters.
This set features handles made from a black, red and brown layered Richlite, of which we only have limited stocks remaining. It is also available in our standard range of handles if you prefer.
Precision engineered from the highest quality high-tech 14c28n Sandvik Swedish steel and sharpened by hand and eye for the ultimate cutting edge.
As with every Savernake Knife, the Neil Rankin set features our trademark concave hollow grind, expertly blended into a tapering convex cutting edge. This means it is both incredibly light, and easy to hone. It also allows for smoother cutting and slicing due to reduced metal passing through the ingredient, and less sticking, due to the reduced surface contact. Quite simply, the concave hollow grind is the business. Dimensions: See individual knives.
