We made a set with Butcombe: four kitchen knives, each in a different English timber, all sharing a blue and white spine in Butcombe’s blue.

One winner takes home the full Butcombe Quad, rolled in a navy Horween leather wrap stitched in our workshop.

See the Butcombe Quad Read the story behind the handles

When Butcombe asked us for a collection, we didn’t want four identical handles or a logo stamped on each. We wanted four knives with their own character that still plainly belong together.

The Classic has the least likely origin. In April 2022 a London plane fell in Soho Square, narrowly missing offices associated with Paul McCartney. London specialists Fallen & Felled salvaged the timber, we secured some of it, and it went to County Durham for stabilising.

A tree that spent its life in central London now has a rather more useful second career.

Along each spine runs a blue and white castellation, poured, cured and tinted by hand. It is Butcombe’s blue, and it shows itself when you turn the knife over.

1. Promoter

The promoter is Leisure Pursuits Ltd, The Sawmill, Savernake, Marlborough SN8 3BQ. The competition is run by the promoter in partnership with Butcombe Brewery Limited, Cox’s Green, Wrington, Bristol BS40 5PA.

2. Eligibility

Open to UK residents aged 18 or over, except employees of the promoter or of Butcombe and their immediate families. No purchase necessary.

3. How to enter

From the date this page is published until 23:59 (GMT) on Saturday 31 October 2026, complete the form with a valid name and email address. One entry per person. Entries that are incomplete or received after the closing time are not counted. The marketing opt-ins are optional and have no bearing on your chance of winning.

4. The prize

One winner receives The Butcombe Quad from Savernake Knives: a Savernake Knife, an OG Carver, a Classic and a Stout Yeoman, with handles in English oak burr, Hampshire yew, London plane and English walnut, and a navy leather knife wrap. Approximate value £2,200. The knives are made to order and despatched within 4 weeks of the winner confirming their details. Delivery is to a UK address and must be signed for by the winner, who will be asked for proof of age. The prize is non-transferable and there is no cash alternative.

5. Winner selection and notification

The winner is drawn at random from all valid entries on or shortly after Monday 2 November 2026, notified by email within 7 days of the draw, and must respond within 14 days to claim. If a winner cannot be contacted or does not respond in time, the promoter may draw an alternative winner. Only the winner is contacted about the result.

6. Your data

Your entry details are held by the promoter to run the competition and to contact the winner, under the terms of its privacy policy. Both opt-ins are optional. If you tick the Savernake box, Savernake Knives will email you until you unsubscribe, which you can do at any time. If you tick the Butcombe box, your name and email address are passed to Butcombe Brewery Limited, who will email you until you unsubscribe from their emails. If you tick neither box, your details are not shared with Butcombe or anyone else.

7. General

The promoter’s decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into. The promoter may amend, suspend or cancel the competition where circumstances make this unavoidable. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales.
