Hever Castle in Kent was Anne Boleyn’s childhood home. The prize includes a night for two in Hever Castle’s luxury accommodation, located in an Edwardian wing attached to the Castle itself, on a Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday of your choosing between now and 18 December 2026. Breakfast is included, along with entry to the castle and grounds, and accommodation guests get the gardens out of hours.

Dinner is the same night, at Eden, the restaurant on the estate, where George Blogg cooks. The prize is the tasting menu for two with a wine flight each. The menu is built around the place itself: the orchard, the gardens and whatever the season happens to be doing. That is not a line from a brochure, it is how the kitchen actually works.

The knives are why we are involved at all. George had been cooking with ours for years before Eden opened, so when the restaurant needed knives for its tables he already knew what he wanted. We made eighteen Stout Yeomans to his specification, in contoured yew with a thin black liner and the Eden name along the blade. Yew being yew, no two are alike. The winner gets a pair of the same.

1. Promoter

The promoter is Leisure Pursuits Ltd, The Sawmill, Savernake, Marlborough SN8 3BQ. The competition is run by the promoter in partnership with Hever Castle Ltd (registered in England, company number 1479520).

2. Eligibility

Open to UK residents aged 18 or over, except employees of the promoter or Hever Castle Ltd and their immediate families. No purchase necessary.

3. How to enter

Between Wednesday 2 September 2026 and 23:59 (BST) on Friday 11 September 2026, complete the form with a valid name and email address. One entry per person. Entries that are incomplete or received after the closing time are not counted. The marketing opt-ins are optional and have no bearing on your chance of winning.

4. The prize

One winner receives a one-night stay for two adults sharing a double or twin deluxe room in Hever Castle’s luxury accommodation, located in an Edwardian wing attached to the Castle rather than inside the Castle itself, with breakfast included, together with entry to the castle and grounds and out-of-hours access to the gardens; dinner for two at Eden on the night of the stay, being two tasting menus and two wine flights; and a pair of Savernake Stout Yeoman table knives in contoured yew, made to the same specification as the knives on Eden’s tables. Approximate total value £1,190.

The stay and the dinner are available on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday nights only, for dates up to and including 18 December 2026, are subject to availability, and exclude Hever Castle’s Christmas experience dates for 2026. Entry to the day visitor attraction is subject to its published opening dates and times, which should be checked on the Hever Castle website at the time of booking. The winner receives a physical voucher for the stay, and Hever Castle contacts the winner separately by email to arrange and confirm the Eden reservation and to discuss dietary requirements. Travel, additional nights, additional food and drink, and anything not expressly listed above are not included. The prize is non-transferable and there is no cash alternative.

Hever Castle’s own terms, conditions and accommodation FAQs apply to the stay and the meal. In particular: the minimum age to book the accommodation is 18; pets are not permitted in the accommodation or the restaurant, although assistance dogs are welcome; and the accommodation has one accessible room, so the winner should tell Hever Castle at the time of booking if it is required, along with any other accessibility requirements.

5. Winner selection and notification

The winner is drawn at random from all valid entries on or shortly after Monday 14 September 2026. The winner is notified by email within 7 days of the draw and must respond within 14 days to claim. The winner will be asked to provide proof of age before the prize is confirmed. If a winner cannot be contacted or does not respond in time, the promoter may draw an alternative winner. All entrants are emailed the outcome.

6. Your data

Your entry details are held by the promoter to run the competition and to email you the result, under the terms of its privacy policy. Each marketing opt-in is separate and optional. If you tick the Savernake box, Savernake Knives will email you until you unsubscribe. If you tick the Hever Castle box, your details will be shared with Hever Castle Ltd so they can contact you, under their own privacy policy. You can opt out of either at any time. To claim the prize, the winner’s name and contact details are shared with Hever Castle Ltd regardless of opt-in choice, solely to arrange the stay and the reservation.

7. General

The promoter’s decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into. The promoter may amend, suspend or cancel the competition where circumstances make this unavoidable. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales.
