2LG Studio are interior designers, and the thing they are known for is colour. So a collaboration with them was always going to be about colour as the main event rather than a finishing touch.
The material is Durat, a solid surface made from post-industrial recycled waste, and itself recyclable. For this we had custom Durat made for us in Finland to precise reference colours, which is not the usual way of buying a material. It is the usual way of buying paint.
The collection runs to three knives and three boards. We hand-turned brass mounts, deliberately substantial ones, for the pieces to sit on against a wall, so the set reads as a considered object even at rest.
What you notice working with people like Jordan and Russell is that bringing colours together well is a real skill, and a rarer one than it looks. Most people cannot do it. They can.
What 2LG made possible was a set where colour is the whole point, held to a number rather than left to chance.
