The time has come to start unleashing our wood stash upon the world, and to kick it off we’re doing a limited run of our SF100 table steak knives in our eight favourite timbers. Starting on the field for the British team, we’ve got lovely creamy oak and it’s swarthier cousin. Beyond that we move in to our beloved African hardwoods, all of which are supplied by the amazing fellows at Dalmann, just up the road from us in Lambourn. We came across them years ago when working in Mozambique, and they’re still there as one of the only ethical wood producers south of the Rio Rovuma.

Blackwood is a crisp and warm wood, balanced by the intricate figuring and patterns of Wild African Mango and Mopane, the latter being our favourite handle wood of all time. Bringing a spot of paler shading and some fantastic patterning, there’s African Olive and a cheeky little run of Padauk for those of you who like a little more heat and boldness in your colour.

Lastly – and this one’s already proven incredibly popular amongst those customers who have inspected our stash in person of late – there’s some lovely heartwood/sapwood Tamboti; one of the very few woods we know that can pull this off, both aesthetically and functionally.

Made with the attention to detail and precision engineering as all our knives, our steak knife is the business. With substantial (yet precise) 12cm blade – and, of course,  unbelievably sharp – these blades glide through your steak like it’s hardly there and will be an impressive – and striking – addition to your usual tableware.  Keep on top of them with light licks of a honing steel and you’re set for life.
