Inspired by our collaboration with the Isle of Wight Tomato Company, our TK12 was born with a tomato-red handle and a liner that captures the green of the classic tomato stalk. 

Pretty much every serrated knife out there is made as such because it’s cheaper and easier to apply serrations than it is to select, use and harden really high-quality steel. Even so, serrating (relatively) soft steel will only take you so far – the tines and teeth will dull and bend as you pull and thwack them against your chopping board; hence why cutting bread means you better also have fishcakes to make and when approaching the wily tomato, you need to be prepared for a lot of impromptu gazpacho…

So we thought what would happen if you actually did the job properly? Single-sided (naturally), with nice open serrations that cut and slice rather than mangle, and with teeth that – correctly – apply intense slicing pressure rather than kick things all over the chopping board.

And then, on top of that, make the whole kit-and-caboodle from some fantastic high-carbon British stainless steel, small-batch hardened to a scrumptious 60HRC?
